Sunday night blues are here, back to work tomorrow, why can't it be a 2 day working week and a 5 day weekend for the same money, I wouldn't complain at that although I've been bored stiff today, with a headache from hell. I need a new job, any suggestions as to what I could do? I'm interested to see what comments I get lol.

Ok I thought I would try this out, I borrowed it of Jude's blog.

1. What is your name?
2. Are we friends?
3. When and how did we meet?
4. Do you have a crush on me?
5. Would you kiss me?
6. Give me a nickname and explain why you picked it.
7. Describe me in one word.
8. What was your first impression?
9. Do you still think that way about me now?
10. What reminds you of me?
11. If you could give me anything what would it be?
12. How well do you know me?
13. When was the last time you saw me?
14. Ever wanted to tell me something but couldn't?
15. Are you going to put this on your blog and see what I say about you?

Ok let's see what people have to say?

Oh and today on the radio they must have known that it's the week from hell at work because for the first time in my life (that I can remember anyway) they actually played a Def Leppard Song, Animal lol.

Ok am back online after several days of not having any internet access, although I have been away for a couple of days anyway.

Reason for going away, well hubby used to be in the Navy when he met me and was based at Portsmouth, a naval town on the south coast of England. A ship he worked on for 4 years, HMS Cardiff was being de-comissioned this weekend and we were invited down for a dinner on Friday night in honour of this event at Portsmouth Guild Hall (N.B. The Leps played here and they have a poster on the wall from the X tour still, did contemplate nicking it lol but decided not to). I won't go into all the boring details but we had a fantastic time, hubby was like a pig in muck when we went on board the ship on Saturday morning as he showed me round, I loved it as I never thought I would set foot on a Naval destroyer, I felt proud but sad that this poor ship will no longer serve her country. I took several pictures while we were down there, there were tons of ships to see but haven't posted them all. (See below).

It's been quite an eventful day today at work. As I drove down the road to work I pass 3 other companies on the industrial estate before I reach mine which is in a dead end, there's only one way in and out. The 1st company I have no idea what they do they have huge buildings like aircraft hangers situated in large grounds, the next one along is a van hire company then next along adjacent to ours is a chemical works.

Upon passing the 1st company I see all their employees stood outside the grounds and immediatly think there is a strike and carry on to work. As I pull into the carpark, someone I work with approaches me and tells me there is a bomb scare at the 1st company I passed, yeah right as if?

Anyhow my boss comes to work and hears the rumours so he heads on down to see what he can find out. After a while he returns and calls a meeting with everyone in our company to inform us that indeed yes there is a scare, but its not quite a bomb scare as such, its 5gk of explosive material found in an old safe some construction workers found and the bomb squad and police are there, they are going to carry out a controlled explosion.

We were told that the businesses immediately next to them had been evacuated but we were quite safe and that when they eventually got round to blowing it up they would let us know and all we had to do was stay away from any windows that could shatter .

The police and bomb squad have to make sure because its so close to the chemical works that it's safe to carry out the explosion so at 3.30pm they are given the all clear and the police phone to tell us to move away from the windows, so we all pile into the canteen. After about 15 mintues the police call us again to say its over, we never heard or felt a thing.

Never thought I would come that close to something like that, what the hell was 5kg of explosives doing in an old safe, apparently the company that owned the premises before left it there and as the site is huge its only just been found.

On another note

I'm sure by now you have all seen Lisa's Def Leppard photo's from the Lakewood, New Jersey show on July 5th, if not head over to her blog, they are awesome.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Lisa for what she did for me that night. I told her to phone me if anything exciting happened, it didn't matter what time it was when she got home.

There I am fast asleep when at around 5am the phone rings, I'm oblivious to it lol, so hubby answers and that's when I woke up to hear him saying confused, "oh ello Lisa," (I forgot to tell him lol), anyhow not letting the cat out of the bag straight away, she went on to tell me it was a great show and that the pictures came out great especially the ones taken with the boys, and I say "oh that's great," she says to me "KATE DID YOU HEAR A WORD I SAID?" (I'm still half asleep lol). So she repeats herself and says again "esp. the ones taken with the boys." By now I'm wide awake, jumping outa bed and heading for my computer.

I was shaking as she told me the accounts of the evening, my fingers kept hitting the wrong keys as she sent me photo after photo, but wait "where's the ones of Joe, did she not take any?" I thought to myself, as you might have guessed she was saving the best till last.

"Are you ready for this?" She asked me. I felt so emotional as I wasn't sure what I was about to see. When the photo finally appeared on my screen, silent tears flooded down my face, not only because he had in his hand my portrait that I drew and that he remembered me from the last one he received and when I met him last year, but because my friend Lisa knowing that I couldn't be there with her this year, did all this for me. I was so choked.

Thank you Lisa your one in a million and I love you lots, I'm so glad I logged onto my computer 3 years ago in August and also that you had such a great night that you will cherish for the rest of your life. (See pic below).

I'm sure many of you are aware of the terrorist attack on our capital city in London today, not only is our country in a state of shock, it alerts other countries around the world to be alert and brings back terrible memories of what happened in America on Sept 11th. At least 33 have been killed, thousands have been injured, thousands more are stranded as public transport in and out of London has been cancelled for obvious reasons. My thoughts are with those people who have lost family and friends and have been injured in this selfish, thoughtless act of terrorism.

Seeing as the weather hasn't been too good today, hubby and myself couldn't do any work in the garden so we decided to go to the pictures to see War of the Worlds. For years I have been saying it's about time they did a modern day version of this film, as with today's technology and special effects they would do a great job. We were not disappointed, it was scary, not scary as in horror, on the edge of your seat, but scary as in it was freaky, it's hard to describe, sort of made me feel it was real, that kind of scary, as if it was really happening, the special effects were fantastic and although I'm not a big fan of Tom Cruise (was actually disappointed when I heard he was the main actor in it), he played a good part. So I would def recommend this film. Gonna go read my H.G.Wells version again now to see how it compares lol.

Hey Jude......................yup I hope you were watching Live 8 in London cause Paul McCartney was singing to ya when he closed the show, me and Janna Boop watched the concerts together from the other side of the globe from one another on AOL, was so cool to watch them and comment together about em, of course the highlight for me was 5 hot guys from Sheffield playing live in Philadelphia, "Ladies & Gentlemen...Def Leppard," at first Joe sounded a bit raspy with Rock of Ages but No Matter What and PSSOM sounded fantastic IMO. Aw bless Joe, he took a pic of the croud, well who wouldn't it's not everyday one gets to stand on a stage and witness over 1 million people attending a gig your playing at. I'm sure they felt very proud to be a part of this global historic event.
